Reports from Spain claim that Newcastle will pay an initial £59m for the forward, which could rise to £63m.
That would be the most expensive transfer in the history of the La Liga outfit and Newcastle.

It is also a huge upgrade for Newcastle United, who have been searching for a striker all summer long.
The Magpies snapped up Chris Wood from then Premier League rivals Burnley back in January, but Wood has been less than impressive to say the least.
Callum Wilson is currently Newcastle’s main no.9 and he scored against Manchester City this past weekend.
However, Wilson’s injury woes are well documented at this point and he is currently dealing with another issue at present. As a result, it makes sense for Eddie Howe and co. to be in the market for another centre-forward.
All told Isak has made 132 appearances for Sociedad, scoring 44 and assisting eight whilst doing so.
