Nottingham Forest was once the focus of considerable backlash and ridicule on social media across the 2022-23 Premier League season in the wake of the former two-time champions of Europe casting the largest transfer net in top-flight history.
Upon returning to the top of the English footballing pyramid, Forest added twenty-nine players on the books at City Ground in unprecedented player movement, but despite som every good deal on paper, manager Steve Cooper had to spend the bulk of the season rangling a team together out of a puzzle box that was hardly tailor-made.
One player that did impress from the very beginning was Manchester United’s Dean Henderson. The United academy graduate arrived on loan and immediately made the position his own before a season-ending injury in January saw the club bring in Costa Rican veteran Keylor Navas for the remainder of the season.

But despite only making 22 appearances, Henderson earned enough credit in the bank under Cooper, which now sees Forest targeting the shot-stopper in a full transfer this summer according to reports from Sky Sports.
Dharmesh Sheth provided the latest update surrounding the situation, which detailed Forest maneuvering to open talks in the very near future in order to secure their man after the Red Devils are expected to stick by David De Gea and extend fresh terms with the Spanish international.
Though Forest is a landing spot that is considerably lower than United, guaranteed first-choice minutes as the number one at City Ground will surely be too good to pass up for a player that is now on the radar screen for Gareth Southgate’s England team.
