The player in question is Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher made 35 Premier League appearances last season but only six of those outings saw him complete 90 minutes.
The Blues have lost N’Golo Kante, Matteo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek already this summer, so their central midfield area is looking a little light.
But after some questionable showings in the early stages of last season, it did look as though the Englishman could be heading for the exit door, with Tottenham among the clubs linked with a move.
But when asked about Gallagher this week, the Argentine boss said: “Gallagher is in our plans. In football, things happen we can’t manage but I am happy with him.”
The Chelsea boss continued when asked about bringing in new midfielders: “At least we need one more. We are working on that. Depends what happens in the next few weeks. The club is working on that”.
