RB Leipzig director Max Eberl has, on Sunday evening, confirmed that a key member of the club’s defensive ranks has made clear his intention to make the move to England, with Manchester City.
The player in question? Josko Gvardiol.
The name of stopper Gvardiol has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the blue half of Manchester over the course of the last week.
This comes after reports came to the fore, pointing towards the RB Leipzig standout agreeing to the personal terms of a contract with Pep Guardiola’s side.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:
‘Understand Manchester City have now agreed personal terms with Joško Gvardiol’.

Pep Guardiola rates Joško highly.
Talks will take place between clubs; RB Leipzig hope to keep Gvardiol, won’t sell for less than €100m.

And, if the latest word stemming from Germany late on Sunday is anything to go by, this desire to join forces is one shared by the man at the heart of the saga, too.
Speaking to the media a short time ago, aforementioned Leipzig chief Max Eberl was asked for the latest on Gvardiol’s future.
And the one-time Borussia Monchengladbach star went on to reveal that his side’s crown jewel has now formally requested a transfer to Manchester City.
RB Leipzig director Eberl confirms: “I can confirm that Joško Gvardiol and agents told us about their desire to move to Manchester City”. 🔵⤵️ #MCFC https://t.co/6rtv21JjHj
