Bundesliga upstarts RB Leipzig returns to a road previously traveled as the Saxony-based outfit looks to close a deal for highly-touted French youth international defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu.
Bitshiabu, 18, broke into the senior setup with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain during the 2022-23 season as an example of yet another gifted young player to come through the PSG Academy setup in recent years, but a clear pathway to minutes at the Parc des Princes will no doubt be difficult to come by for the U19 international center-back, with RBL now primed to bring him to Red Bull Arena.

Football insider Fabrizio Romano reported that RBL will part ways with over €15m for Bitshiabu, who will be on a five-year contract with the German club.
RBL has turned to France in previous years to recruit young talent into the Die Roten Bullen fold, with standout names the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Abdou Diallo, Mohamed Simakan, Nordi Mukiele, Jean-Kevin Augustine, and Ibrahima Konaté all jumping to Saxony before ultimately being sold for a considerable profit.
If history is to be the benchmark, much can be expected from Bitshiabu in the coming years.
