Spanish and European champions Real Madrid have set their sights on a key member of the first-team setup at Manchester City as a prime target for next summer.
The player in question? Joao Cancelo.
As per a report from Spanish outlet Diario AS, the powers that be at the Bernabeu are ready to go all in to clinch the signature of Portuguese international Cancelo in the summer of 2023.
This comes with Florentino Perez and co. enticed by both the 28-year-old’s abilities on the ball, and versatility.
A big-money proposal, in turn, is expected to land on the negotiating table at the Etihad, with Cancelo himself, allegedly, open to the idea of a move to Spain’s capital.

The gifted full-back, though, is not the only member of Pep Guardiola’s ranks understood to be on the agenda at the Bernabeu at present.
Despite missing out on the Norwegian sensation to City this past summer, Blancos president Perez has not yet given up hope of seeing Haaland take to the pitch donning the colours of his beloved club.
In turn, in the summer of 2024, Real have been tipped to launch a big-money assault for the 22-year-old, when Haaland’s release clause will allegedly drop to a sum of around €180 million.
