Arsenal’s 2022/23 season was a mixed one in the eyes of fans.
The Gunners have been without Champions League football since the days of Arsene Wenger, and after a 5th-place finish in 2021/22, the goal this time around was very much securing a top-four spot.
Arsenal did that with ease, but after spending so long top of the Premier League and having an 11-point lead over Manchester City at one point, not lifting the title does feel somewhat like a failure.
It is not all doom and gloom for the Gunners, though, as their 2nd-place finish has earned them a tidy chunk of change.
Having pushed Manchester City all the way only to end the 2022/23 campaign as runners-up, Arsenal have managed to bring in a healthy sum of money.
As is the case every season, each Premier League position is worth £2.2m, therefore Southampton collect £2.2m for finishing bottom and the champions earn around £44m. So after finishing the term in second, Arsenal will receive £41.8m – that works out to be around £6m more following a fifth-paced finish last year
