West Ham United’s opening €50 million offer for Lucas Paquetá has been rejected by Lyon, according to L’Équipe.
The Hammers are attempting to complete an audacious deal to sign the highly rated Brazilian.
The 24-year-old has attracted interest from many of Europe’s top clubs and has made himself a regular for the national team.

L’Équipe add that Lyon are expecting around €60 million for Lucas Paquetá.
West Ham’s first offer was €50 million including bonuses.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports are reporting that talks remain ongoing with Lyon over a deal for the midfielder.
The east London club are now expected to submit a new offer after seeing their first one turned down.
The player looks keen to make the move with his agents already in London.
His entourage are hoping to complete the move by next week’s transfer deadline.
