The news broke on Tuesday night that Liverpool were out of the running for Jude Bellingham.
Paul Joyce of The Times reported that Liverpool are drawing up a list of alternative targets to Jude Bellingham after deciding that the scale of their summer rebuild precludes a move for the England midfielder. With it added that the merits of spending far in excess of £100m on a single player have been widely debated at Anfield.
Liverpool are likely to sign at least two midfielders to bolster their weak midfield. And now, five possible options have been revealed.
According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool’s shortlist contains five players that they will move for in the summer. They are West Ham’s Declan Rice, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes.
Rice is on the more expensive side with fees of around £100m previously quoted, whilst Brighton turned down an offer of £80m for Caicedo from Arsenal in the winter window.
The other three options, though, are seemingly cheaper. Both Barella and Nunes have been touted as £50m signings, whilst just €25m may be enough to land Ryan Gravenberch.
