Manchester United’s 2022/23 campaign saw them clinch the League Cup and finish 4th in the Premier League to secure Champions League football.
But when it comes to challenging the likes of Manchester City for the league title, it remains clear that United are still well off the pace.
One of Man United’s issues is their poor squad depth. They have spent more than their city rivals since 2016, but their decision making in the transfer market has led to a pretty poor squad overall.
Erik ten Hag is seemingly looking to change this in the summer, with seven players tipped for exits.
As per Fabrizio Romano, both sides are happy for Harry Maguire to leave the club, Wout Weghorst’s loan will not be made permanent as he attracts interest from Everton and Spain, Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest is advanced, Donny van de Beek looks set to leave in search of regular game time and both Eric Baily and Alex Telles are set to depart.
