The Athletic have been discussing the possibility of an Arsenal move for João Félix.
The Portuguese forward has been in talks with both the Gunners and Manchester United about a move.
Atlético Madrid are looking to move him on following a fallout with manager Diego Simeone.
The Spanish club are demanding a total package worth €21 million for the player for just a six-month deal.
They want a €15 million loan fee plus his €6 million gross salary, something that is putting Arsenal off of doing a deal.
Meanwhile, a permanent deal would cost €130-140 million.
Félix now expected to stay in Madrid
Therefore, with very few clubs able to do a deal for Félix, the possibility of the 23-year-old remaining at the Metropolitano Stadium is high.
Simeone and Félix are now ready to put their differences aside, put Atlético and reconcile, according to Relevo.
The forward now staying until June is the most likely outcome.
