Arsenal are expected to complete a move for Kai Havertz soon.
The forward is set to move from Chelsea to Arsenal as part of a £67.5m deal after talks progressed quickly this week.
And now, ahead of the signing being made official, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Mikel Arteta played a crucial role in convincing the German to make the move.
He added that Havertz believes playing for Arsenal is the best project in Europe:
“Mikel Arteta has been really, really important in Arsenal’s deal to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea,” Romano wrote.
“[…] Arteta is delighted this is going to happen. The Spaniard did everything he could to convince Havertz that a move to Arsenal was best for him, and the player agreed.
Havertz is expected to be used in a no.8 role for Arsenal next season, rather than the false nine role he had when at Chelsea.
