Arsenal secured Kiwior’s capture from Italian side Spezia for £20m.
Kiwior is left-footed, which means Arsenal no longer have to rely on Gabriel to start every game as he was the Gunners’ only left-footed centre-back out of their current crop of stoppers.
The 22-year-old has played 37 games for Spezia in the Serie A since joining them in the summer of 2021.
With a centre-back and a forward now signed, Arsenal will surely turn their attention towards a central midfielder.
As for Kiwior, he has already received high praise from one of Europe’s leading strikers, Robert Lewandowski.
The pair have linked up at international level and Lewandowski is clearly a fan:
“I noticed it during the warm-up before the match against the Netherlands. In training, it’s very difficult to see certain things. Then I saw him in the match, extraordinary. Really great potential.”
With games set to come thick and fast for the Gunners in the second half of 2022/23, we are sure to see Kiwior given a chance in the near future.
