Both Crystal Palace and Southampton have set their sights on an out-of-favour member of Tottenham’s midfield, according to reports.

The player being eyed by Spurs’ Premier league rivals? Harry Winks.

English international Winks, of course, has endured another hit-and-miss campaign to date, slipping in and out of the Lilywhites’ starting XI under the watch of Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte alike.

Recent weeks, though, have seen a new pairing begin to establish themselves as the undisputed first-choice duo at the heart of Conte’s engine room, in the form of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and January arrival Rodrigo Bentancur.

In turn, reports suggest that Winks has been made available for transfer, having not carved out a place for himself in the long-term plans of Tottenham’s new boss.

As per a report from the Daily Star, both Crystal Palace and Southampton are ready to test the waters with bids for Winks ahead of next season.

The transfer team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, for their part, are expected to ‘listen to any sensible offers in the summer’, with the midfielder himself understood to be open to the prospect of a transfer, in a bid to secure more consistent game-time.

Magpies up next

Turning attentions away from transfers and back towards matters on the pitch, Antonio Conte will no doubt already have his sights firmly fixed on the upcoming weekend.

This comes with Tottenham set to get the cub’s top-4 pursuit back underway on the back of the international break, in a Premier League showdown with Newcastle United a week from today.

The capital giants head into the fixture trailing north London rivals Arsenal by three points in the race for the English top-flight’s final Champions League berth, albeit with Mikel Arteta’s troops also in possession of a game in hand.
