Relegated Southampton is set to watch the first of a cadre of potential sales walk out of St. Mary’s Stadium this summer after Ligue 1 giants have come to terms with Saints over Ghanaian international center-back Mohammed Salisu.
Per The Athletic’s David Ornstein, The Monégasques have not only reached an agreement with Saints but have also sealed personal terms with Salisu ahead of a medical set to take place next week before an official announcement.
The 24-year-old Kumasi-born defender spent three seasons at Saints under multiple managers after first climbing through the youth ranks at Spanish outfit Real Valladolid before breaking into the first-team at Estadio José Zorrilla.

Despite his importance to Saints, Salisu has long been viewed as one of a number of senior figures that were sure to depart the club this summer after Southampton failed to avoid the drop to the Championship.
Along with the Ghanaian, Saints are currently battling Liverpool and West Ham United over the potential sales of Belgian starlet Roméo Lavia as well as English international midfielder and club icon James Ward-Prowse.
German international Armel Bella-Kotchap has also been placed in the crosshairs of multiple clubs this summer, along with full-back Tino Livramento, while Croatian international Duje Ćaleta-Car is rumored to be tracked by Olympique Lyonnais.
