A fresh insight into Premier League giants Chelsea’s pursuit of Dynamo Moscow talent Arsen Zakharyan has been provided on Sunday.

Zakharyan, 19, has long been viewed as one of the finest young talents in his home country of Russia.

The starlet is a versatile midfielder who can operate anywhere across the middle of the park, but largely excels in a more attack-minded role.

This comes with Zakharyan in possession of a whole host of stellar attacking traits.

Such talents saw the Russian, already capped on four occasions by his country, rack up a head-turning seven goals and eight assists across 29 league appearances in the 2021/22 campaign.

And this has since been followed by a further trio of direct goal contributions thus far this season.

In fact, two weeks ago, it was revealed that the Blues had gone as far as to table an opening offer for the 19-year-old.

And though, evidently, Chelsea’s efforts to land Zakharyan ultimately came up short, the player himself has since made clear his hope that a deal will in the end be struck.

A fresh insight into the plans of the transfer team at Stamford Bridge when it comes to a potential January swoop for the midfielder has therefore, on Sunday, been provided.

The info comes courtesy of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that the Londoners have every intention of continuing to track Zakharyan over the coming weeks and months.

After personal terms with the teen were agreed last month, a winter transfer could well therefore be on the cards.

‘Chelsea remain interested in Arsen Zakharyan as potential target for present and future,’ Romano revealed. ‘There’s a plan to follow the Russian talent in the next months. There was no full agreement on fee with Dinamo Moscow in August but personal terms were 100% agreed.’
