Messi joined the French powerhouse in the summer of 2021 from long-time club, FC Barcelona.
The Argentine went on to have a solid season, scoring 11 goals and providing 15 assists in 34 outings.
Such a record for the majority of players, especially at 34, would be very good. However, there were some that argued that Messi was not at his best.
In 2022/23, however, at the age of 35, Messi has hit the ground running. In 11 games for PSG, he has already scored six and assisted eight.
Messi’s superb form has carried over onto the international stage as well.
Proving he can still go at the age of 35, Barcelona fans would no doubt love to see Messi return to the Camp Nou at some point in the near future.
So, the South American can leave PSG for free next summer and re-sign for Barcelona if he wished.
And as he has now played for another club, Barcelona are able to offer him a contract worth less than 50 per cent of his last deal in Spain, which they were not able to do before he left.
Elsewhere, Gerrard Romero has reported that Messi’s name will definitely be on the table for Barcelona next summer and the World Cup will be decisive in the player’s decision.
