ESPN reported on Tuesday that Chelsea are preparing to make an opening offer for Lyon wonderkid Rayan Cherki as they seek a replacement for Christian Pulisic.
Cherki was born in Lyon and the 19-year-old has been at the club since 2010.
During that time he has already made 102 appearances for their senior side despite still being a teenager.
In said games he has scored 14 goals and 12 assists, with four goals and six assists racked up in 34 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2022/23 season.
Cherki is a natural attacking midfielder and played the majority of his games there last term, but he can also play on both the left and right flank – making him an excellent rotation option,
However, The Guardian reporter Ed Aarons has thrown a spanner in the works regarding a potential move, claiming that Lyon are determined not to sell Cherki.
