Premier League top-four outliers Tottenham may be embroiled in the ongoing summer saga surrounding star striker Harry Kane, but Spurs are still keeping their eye on arrivals this summer under new boss Ange Postecoglu and remain keen on Bayer Leverkusen center-back Edmond Tapsoba in a possible bid to secure vital defensive reinforcements.

The 24-year-old Burkinabé center-back has been a vital cog in the wheel at the BayArena since his arrival during the 2020 summer transfer window, with a number of big clubs in the Premier League having been linked with acquiring his services in the last 12 months.

While there has been no movement on edging closer to securing a move for the highly-rated central defender, Spurs still view the former Vitória de Guimarães stand out as a top target during the final weeks of the transfer window on account of limited high-level options in the heart of the defense.

At current, Postecoglu can count on just Cristian Romero as the only untouchable option in the back four, with the likes of Eric Dier, Davinson Sánchez, and Japhet Tanganga falling short of the mark if the club is to seriously push up the table in 2023-24.

The club has done well this summer overall when it comes to recruitment, however, spending a total of £117m on deals for James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, and Manor Solomon.
