An insight into the expected value of Chelsea’s latest offer for Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has been provided on Thursday night.
The subject of midfielder Caicedo’s future, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines for the umpteenth time this summer over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming that Liverpool had come to the decision to rival Chelsea for the Ecuadorian’s signature.
The board at Stamford Bridge have long been working on a deal for Caicedo, having seen no fewer than three bids for his signature rejected by the powers that be at Brighton.
Upon hearing of Chelsea entering the fray for Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia, though, Liverpool swiftly made it known that they too are ready to go all out to land Caicedo.
Not only that, but the Reds have allegedly proposed a superior package to that of their Blues counterparts.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then such efforts will likely entail a mammoth final proposal.
As per the reliable Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea are expected to imminently table an offer totalling a sum in the region of £100 million for Caicedo.
Chelsea are likely to make a new bid of around £90m+ £10m in add-ons, which they hope will be enough to clinch an agreement with Brighton. [@Matt_Law_DT – Telegraph] (8.50pm) https://t.co/8INxtbAp24
