West Ham United have been rebuffed in an opening bid for a headline member of the defensive setup at Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to reports.

West Ham, in turn, this week moved forward with an opening offer.
As per transfer expert David Ornstein of The Athletic:
‘West Ham United have seen a £20million ($25.8m) offer rejected for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire.’
Though it is reiterated that David Moyes is keen to bring Maguire to east London this summer, Ornstein, significantly, adds that:
‘His salary could also be problematic for the Europa Conference League winners, making it doubtful they will bid again.’
