Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has, on Friday, provided an insight into the club’s plans for the summer transfer window.

Barca, of course, are fresh off wrestling back Spanish football supremacy from arch rivals Real Madrid.

Owing to a stellar La Liga campaign, featuring victories in 27 of their 34 fixtures, the Blaugrana clinched a first league title since all the way back in 2019.

And yet, all told, many of a Barcelona persuasion remain unsatisfied with the club’s season.

This comes with the Catalans having failed miserably once more on the continent, en route to a group stage exit from the Champions League, and ensuing Europa League ousting at the hands of Manchester United.

Calls, in turn, have already begun to mount across the club’s fanbase for fresh additions to Xavi’s ranks with a view to the coming campaign.

And Xavi was not at all shy in confirming that, owing to the imminent exit of former teammate Sergio Busquets, the signing of a deep-lying midfielder has been identified as a ‘priority’ at the Camp Nou.
