The line-ups have been announced as Turkey take on Portugal in Group F at Euro 2024.

Team News

Both teams are looking to take a step towards the knockout stages having each won their opening match of the tournament.

Turkey have made four changes to the side that beat Georgia 3-1, with Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir coming in for Mert Gunok, while Zeki Celik, Yunus Akgun and Kerem Akturkoglu also start.

Ex-Everton man Cenk Tosun is on the bench while previous goalscorer Arda Guler of Real Madrid drops to the bench in a surprising move from head coach Vincenzo Montella.

They will instead be relying on Hakan Calhanoglu and Burak Yilmaz to provide their main goal threats.

Meanwhile, Portugal boss Roberto Martinez makes just one change, with Fulham’s Joao Palhinha coming into the midfield in place of full-back Diogo Dalot.

Cristiano Ronaldo earns his second consecutive start and will be looking to get off the mark having missed a few good chances against the Czech Republic.

The State of the Group

A win for either side will see them qualify for the knockout stages following the Czech Republic’s draw with Georgia earlier this afternoon.

Both teams sit on three points and a draw would mean their fates would go down to the final match of the group stages as they would still be within three points of the two teams below them.

Don’t expect to see either team play too conservatively as they will want to get the job done at the earliest possible point to ease the pressure ahead of the knockout rounds.
