A fresh insight into the injury situation in Didier Deschamps’ star-studded France national team squad has been provided on Thursday.
The subject of personnel woes has of course taken its place front and centre in Les Bleus’ camp ahead of the Qatar World Cup kicking into gear.
This comes after key midfield pair N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba were joined on the absentee list for the tournament by Christopher Nkunku.
A training ground challenge with Eduardo Camavinga saw RB Leipzig standout Nkunku come out the worse, with his withdrawal from Deschamps’ ranks, in turn, having been confirmed earlier in the week.

France’s concerns, however, do not end there.
Ahead of the country’s World Cup opener against Australia next Tuesday, Les Bleus are too sweating over the fitness of two high-profile performers.
Both Benzema and Varane spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines, owing to respective injury concerns.
And, as showcased in the footage below, the pair evidently remain some way off match sharpness, having trained away from the rest of France’s stars on Thursday evening:
