Two managers tipped as potential replacements for Antonio Conte on the touchline at Tottenham Hotspur have, on Thursday, provided updates on their respective futures.

Speculation surrounding an imminent change in the dugout on the Lilywhite half of north London, of course, has come back to the fore in a major way over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes owing to the struggles of the current man in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After an altogether underwhelming goalless stalemate with Italian champions AC Milan on Wednesday, Spurs were sent packing from the Champions League, seeing their feint silverware hopes for the campaign brought to an end in the process.

And boss Conte, in turn, has come under mounting scrutiny.

Amid links to a whole host of managers from across the continent, on Thursday evening, two such tacticians were, in turn, drawn on their respective chances of linking up with Tottenham in the near future.

First, Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper had the following to say:

“I feel anything outside our bubble is irrelevant. I’m focused on Forest. The only thing that it is, is irrelevant. I don’t want or need to say it again. The most important thing for me is the game, I am trying to be at my best.”

And this was swiftly followed by a similar statement on the part of beloved Brentford boss Thomas Frank:

“First of all they’ve a great manager I’ve studied for a long time, I hope he will do important things… and then, I’m very very happy here at Brentford.”
