An insight into the alleged plans of those in a position of power at Spanish giants Real Madrid to reinforce the club’s midfield has been provided late on Sunday.
The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet ABC, who, first, point towards the renewals of two contracts as being of paramount importance.
As well as continuing to push Toni Kroos – considering retirement come the conclusion of the campaign – to stay put for at least another season, the Blancos hierarchy are hopeful of agreeing to fresh terms with Luka Modric.
Like Kroos, Croatian icon Modric’s current deal is due to expire next summer.

Real’s plans, though, stretch far beyond the summer of 2024.
This comes with Florentino Perez and co. keen to add the final piece of the puzzle to a midfield setup which could well guide the European champions through the upcoming decade.
England international Bellingham is of course a man in demand at present, amid another scintillating opening to the season with Borussia Dortmund.
Ahead of what is expected to prove a fierce battle for his signature, though, Real are ready to do whatever it takes to beat out the competition, and bring the 19-year-old to the Bernabeu with a view to 2023/2024.
