Sections of the Barcelona faithful made use of the club’s victory over Espanyol this evening to call Lionel Messi back to the Camp Nou.

Xavi Hernandez’s troops were back in action a short time ago.

In the knowledge that an eventual victory would see them secure the La Liga title, the Catalans made the trip to the RCDE Stadium, for a derby showdown with Espanyol.

And, when all was said and done, march on to glory is precisely what Barca managed.

This came courtesy of an eventual 4-2 victory, by way of goals from Robert Lewandowski (2), Alejandro Balde, and Jules Kounde.

Celebrations, in turn, were quickly kicked into gear across Catalunya’s capital.

This came with a view to the summer transfer market, and a key target on the part of the powers that be at the Camp Nou.

As showcased in the footage below, Barca’s supporters came together on the streets to send a crystal clear message to club legend Lionel Messi, belting out a collective chant amid long-standing hope of a reunion between the two parties over the coming months:
