The Premier League season kicks off on Friday, barely eight weeks since Manchester City completed a famous treble with a nervous 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul.
That came after they ended up the runaway Premier League champions despite a spirited challenge from Arsenal, who had looked primed to end a 20-year wait for the title only to fall away dramatically in the final weeks of the campaign to hand City a third successive title.
Arsenal have strengthened significantly over the summer in a bid to put the disappointment behind them, while there have been eye-catching additions and departures throughout the league.
