Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has, on Thursday evening, secured for himself yet another remarkable piece of goalscoring history.
CR7, of course, opted to take his talents to Asia late last year.
After coming to an agreement on the termination of his contract with Manchester United, the Portuguese international left his legendary European career in the rear view, to put pen to paper on a lucrative deal with Saudi giants Al-Nassr.
Widely expected to take the nation by storm, however, Ronaldo’s time in Riyadh since got off to an inauspicious start.
After netting twice in a friendly meeting with French champions Paris Saint-Germain, the 37-year-old subsequently blanked on both his competitive debut, and against Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup.
To his credit, Ronaldo did notch a decisive equaliser in a league meeting with Al Fateh last time out, but even this came from the penalty spot, and only after he had fluffed a host of presentable prior opportunities in front of goal.
And, on Thursday evening, this is precisely what Ronaldo went on to do.
As expected, the former Real Madrid standout was afforded his latest starting berth, as Al-Nassr made the trip to Mecca, for a league meeting with Al-Wehda.
And with 45 minutes on the clock, he has made all the difference when it comes to the scoreline.
CR7, to this point in proceedings, has bagged both of Al-Nassr’s goals, without any sign of reply from Al-Wehda:
Just look at that reaction! 🔥

Not only that, but, in the process, he has also etched his name ever further into the history books of world football.
This comes with Ronaldo’s first tonight having marked his 500th in league football across the frontman’s iconic career:
