Juventus fans have taken to the streets of Turin to protest the prospective incoming transfer of Romelu Lukaku, claiming that they don’t want the Belgian at the club.
The Old Lady have reportedly tabled a bid for the striker, who was thought to be set for a move back to Inter Milan only for the Nerazzurri to pull the plug on any move after discovering the talks between Lukaku and Juventus, and they are now eyeing up a move for Folarin Balogun.
Juve’s move for Lukaku is not simple, though.
As it stands, they have offered 40m euros (37.5m euros plus a further 2.5m in add ons), but that is only valid should they part ways with Dusan Vlahovic, who is thought to be of interest to Paris Saint Germain.
It is an offer valid until August 4th, leaving Lukaku in career limbo once more. He is due to return to training with Chelsea on Monday, but will play no part in their tour of the USA, being left behind alongside other cast-offs in the form of Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Though he is subject of an offer from Saudi Arabia, it is believed that Lukaku’s preference would be to return to Italy, with Juventus top of that list.
As shown below, several hundred of them gathered outside the Turin club’s medical centre to make their thoughts known on the deal for the attacker.
“We don’t want Lukaku” rang around several times from the gathered fans, both in reference to his perceived ability and the fact that they would be signing a former Inter Milan man who had previously made his views on Juventus very clear.
