Arsenal headed into the match knowing they needed to win to keep their title hopes alive.
The Gunners were three points above Manchester City ahead of kick-off vs the Hammers.
However, Man City have a game in hand and a better goal difference, meaning an Arsenal loss would likely see Pep Guardiola’s side go top of the division.
When all was said and done at the London Stadium, the points were shared.
Arsenal began the tie threatening with balls into the box, which Gabriel Jesus got on the end of and headed wide.
And it was the Brazilian who opened the scoring six minutes in. Martin Odegaard slipped in Ben White who put the ball back across goal for Jesus to tap in.

Arsenal went on to dominate for the next two minutes or so but Arsenal gifted the home outfit a way back into the tie after Gabriel found Paqueta in the box. Sadio Benraham stepped up and converted from 12 yards.
However, there was an argument that Declan Rice handled the ball in the build-up to the penalty.
Following the third goal, West Ham grew into the tie and dominated the rest of the second half but could not find another goal.
But five minutes into the second half, it was West Ham’s turn to give away a penalty. On this occasion, though, Bukayo Saka put the spot-kick wide.
Arsenal’s afternoon went from bad to worse minutes later as West Ham went down the other end and equalised.

Mikel Arteta responded to the Hammers’ second goal by bringing on Jorginho and Leandro Trossard.
West Ham should have won the game 81 minutes in when Benraham crossed to Michail Antonio who had a free header at the back post but he hit the woodwork.
