The powers that be at West Ham United have set their sights on the signature of a headline member of the defensive setup at Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to reports.
The player in question? Harry Maguire.
The subject of departures, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines at the London Stadium across the day to date.
This comes after star midfielder Declan Rice’s record-breaking move to Arsenal was finally made official, for a sum understood to come in around the £105 million mark.

With a mammoth cash injection in the bag, however, attentions at West Ham will now quickly turn towards securing reinforcements.
The Irons are expected to seek out a minimum of two new midfielders over the coming weeks, amid links with the likes of Ajax standout Edson Alvarez and Juventus’ Denis Zakaria.
As per a report from The Telegraph:
‘West Ham will target Harry Maguire after Declan Rice completed his £105m move to Arsenal.’
The capital outfit, it is understood, have identified England international Maguire as a leading summer target.
With Manchester United ready to part with the former Leicester City man on the back of another disappointing season at Old Trafford, it will therefore now be up to the hierarchy at the London Stadium to convince Maguire himself of the merits of a move to the club.
David Moyes, for his part, is said to be a keen admirer of the talents of the 30-year-old.
West Ham, at this stage, are hopeful of striking a loan agreement for Maguire, albeit with it remaining to be seen whether or not their Man United counterparts would be open to such a possibility.
