West Ham United cannot keep their hands off Manchester United outcasts this summer, and are reportedly lining up a move for a third Red Devil before the end of the transfer window.
David Moyes’ side are already on the verge of signing England star Harry Maguire in a deal worth £30m, and have seen a £30m bid also rejected for Scott McTominay, with Manchester United demanding more to part with the midfielder.
Now, however, the Irons could be heading back to the negotiation table for a different member of Erik ten Hag’s squad, with reports linking them with a move for French striker Anthony Martial.
As per the Mirror, West Ham are one of three clubs to express an interest in the United man, alongside Inter Milan and Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
They add that the Hammers ‘are yet to formally hold transfer talks for the striker but have expressed an interest in a deal this month’, having sold Gianluca Scamacca back to Italy for a fee of £25m following a disastrous season at the London Stadium.
Martial will miss Manchester United’s opening game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers with a thigh injury, and is thought to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford due to his poor injury record, which has seen him miss large chunks of each season he has been at the club.
Erik ten Hag’s side are also keen to add another defender to their ranks, and are eyeing up a move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the end of the summer transfer window.
