Match report
The mounting pressure on the shoulders of West Ham United boss David Moyes reached a new high on Friday night.
This came as his Hammers side were put to the sword by capital rivals Brentford, to slip ever closer to the Premier League’s relegation zone.
Ivan Toney was first on target for the evening’s visitors to the London Stadium, slotting home from close range after Lukasz Fabianski kept out Christian Norgaard’s initial effort.
And Toney went on to turn provider a short time later, releasing Josh Dasilva to surge in behind West Ham’s backline before picking out the far corner with aplomb:

West Ham, from here, pushed hard in an effort to claw their way back into proceedings over the course of the 2nd-half, but ultimately saw their efforts come up short.
The Irons, as a result, remain 17th in the Premier League table, just a solitary point clear of the bottom three.

Fan reaction
He’s done such a great job at West Ham but this season hasn’t been good enough.
Not got the best out of the new signings and far too loyal to the likes of Cresswell who has not been up to it for some time now (as shown again today). Surely only a matter of time for Moyes now

Why are people saying sack Moyes tomorrow when there is 3 hours left of today?

Fabianski needs to be dropped…
He has no eye for a throw, pass or quick decision to help us break when he collects the ball!
It’s so poor when you combine it with some of his errors leading directly to goals— WHUFC_⚒️_Football_Sloth (@WhufcSloth) December 30, 2022
I’d seriously take Ivan Toney. Baller.

With all due respect to West Ham and their fans, Paqueta moving to West Ham under Moyes has to be one of the worst career decisions I’ve seen in a long time

How many times do cresswell and Fabianski have to cost us games before we fuck them off to the reserves

Thomas Frank needs more respect, he’s consistently getting Brentford results nearly every week

Would’nt mind Thomas Frank actually…think he’s done great at Brentford https://t.co/iLjRAhKMXe

If Moyes gets sacked, that will be a very appealing position to a lot of exciting managers with a point to prove. Squad has some very solid pieces to build around and a couple extremely gifted footballers. Plus i’d imagine a large transfer budget if Rice is on his way
