Chelsea headed into the match having lost the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final 2-0.
This put a lot of pressure on the Blues in the return leg at Stamford Bridge, needing either three goals without a reply and then two to get to a penalty shootout.
Even before the game kicked-off, though, it was clear Chelsea had no chance of completing a comeback.
Frank Lampard played five defenders and three central midfielders, leaving all of the attacking work to be done by Kai Havertz and Conor Gallagher.
In the end, Real Madrid went on to score twice and firmly cement their spot in the semi-final.
Following the match, Thiago Silva got a bit emotional.
The Frenchman, unlike the first-leg, didn’t have a sniff at Stamford Bridge and that’s testament to how well Silva did out there.
But emotions got the better of the 38-year-old at full-time, though. Silva was distraught and was then consoled by Frank Lampard who gave the defender a big hug and whispered something in his ear.
