Cristiano Ronaldo is a goalscoring freak.

The Portuguese veteran has scored over 700 times at club level, and no player has scored more at international level than the Madeira man, netting 118 goals in 196 appearances and likely not done yet.

Now playing for Saudi Arabia side Al-Nassr, he is in the twilight of his glittering career, which has seen him win five ballon D’ors and five Champions League trophies. But, he terrorised teams around Europe for the best part of two decades, and some clubs still have nightmares whenever his name is mentioned.

We took a look at the five sides that he had the most success against.

1. Sevilla (27)

Top of the list are Spanish giants Sevilla, who found themselves on the end of a whopping 27 Ronaldo goals in just 18 games, including 25 in just 15 La Liga outings.

There were just three games in which he didn’t find the back of the net against the side from Southern Spain when they met in the top flight, and his record included five hat-tricks, one of which he added a fourth goal to to inflict further embarrassment.

2. Atletico Madrid (25)

Probably the rivalry (aside from with Lionel Messi) that Ronaldo is most known for, the 38-year-old hasn’t recorded more goal contributions against any other side, with his 25 goals also accompanied by nine assists in the 37 clashes between the sides.

His most famous moment against the Rojablanco came in Juventus colours, however, when he netted a hat-trick to overturn a 2-0 lead and send Diego Simeone’s side crashing out of the Champions League.

3. Getafe (23)

Another local rivalry, Ronaldo loved a game against Getafe. In fact, his 23 goals against them came in just 14 games, and included 5 assists.

On the losing side just once in that time, CR7 grabbed three hat-tricks against them during his time at Real, and only failed to register a goal or an assist on two occasions.

4. Barcelona (20)

Next up is the big one, Barcelona. Ronaldo’s record in this clash is not actually as good as one might think, with the Portuguese star netting 20 times but those goals coming in 34 games, the second most on this list.

Despite this, however, he was still capable of some truly remarkable moments, including a vital goal to take Real Madrid to a La Liga title at the expense of their major rivals, before dropping a celebration to match the occasion.

=4. Celta Vigo (20)

Last but not least, we have Celta Vigo. Despite only playing them on 13 occasions during his stint with Real Madrid, CR7 racked up an exceptional 20 goals and a further 4 assists against the minnows, giving him a return of 2 goals or assists per game.

This record included one hat-trick, and one occasion in which he went on to score a whopping four goals in a 7-1 win on his way to second in the goalscoring charts that season.

What about outside Spain?

Tottenham are the unhappy winners of this race, with Ronaldo having racked up 14 goals and 5 assists in 20 games against the north Londoners. Roma sit just behind, while games against Juventus saw Cristiano manage an impressive 10 goals in just 7 games.
