10. David Beckham – 80

First on this list is Manchester United legend David Beckham, whose wand of a right foot helped him contribute a hefty 80 assists with the Red Devils.

Across eight seasons at Old Trafford, he reached double figures for assists in 4 seasons and peaked with 15 assists in the 1999/2000 season.

9. James Milner – 87

Still going strong at the age of 37, James Milner has played in every Premier League season since 2002, and is slowly making his way up these rankings.

Five behind Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard as it stands, he has only reached double figures for assists in two of those seasons, but by sheer longevity finds his way onto this list.

8. Steven Gerrard – 92

Liverpool’s captain, legend and all action midfield man, Steven Gerrard was one of the best midfielders that the Premier League has ever seen, and has the stats to back it up.

The Englishman registered 92 assists from midfield across 17 seasons, but undoubtedly peaked in the 2013/14 season, when he managed a hefty 15 assists to go with his 13 goals, helping Liverpool to finish just two points behind title winners Manchester City.

7. David Silva – 93

A player still starring for Real Sociedad in La Liga, the 37-year-old has a statue outside the Etihad Stadium, and remains one of the most technically gifted players that the Premier League has ever seen.

6. Dennis Bergkamp – 94

From one supremely gifted creator to another, Bergkamp’s arrival on English shores saw the reinvention of football tactics. Playing as a no.10 as much as a second striker, the Dutchman was one of the early icons of the Premier League and was inducted into the hall of fame in 2022.

He produced an astonishing 94 assists, but despite his fantastic returns, finds himself just 6th on this list.

5. Kevin de Bruyne – 98

The highest man on this list still playing, Kevin de Bruyne will be hoping that his seemingly telepathic partnership with striker Erling Haaland can see him shoot up the rankings further still before the end of his career.

Alongside only Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas as players to hit 20 assists in a single season, the 31-year-old has taken his second chance in England with both hands at Manchester City, and remains one of the most dangerous creators in the division.

4. Frank Lampard – 102

A Premier League hero for so many reasons, Frank Lampard features on the list of most appearances, goals and assists in the English top flight, such was his influence on English football.

The Chelsea man, renowned for his ability to pop up in the box late to convert a low cross, wasn’t bad at helping others find the back of the net either, racking up over 100 assists across his time in the top flight.

3. Wayne Rooney – 103

Another man who needs no introduction, Wayne Rooney produced the goods for Manchester United time and time again during his career with the Red Devils.

An all-action forward, such was his impressive range of passing that he found himself slipping into midfield as his career progressed, and it was to his credit that he didn’t look at all out of place. With over 100 assists to his name, why should he?

2. Cesc Fabregas – 111

Just ahead of Rooney is a man that still divides opinion in London. Leaving Arsenal, where he was well on his way to becoming a club legend, for boyhood side Barcelona, Cesc Fabregas returned in 2014, but in west London with Chelsea, where he subsequently went on to lift the Premier League.

Managing over 100 assists in the top flight, his contribution to English football is often overlooked due to his time with Barcelona.

1. Ryan Giggs – 162

Well clear atop the standings and unlikely to be caught anytime soon, Ryan Giggs has over 50 more assists than the next player and, like James Milner, was a stalwart of the Premier League.

Racking up over two decades in the top flight, the Welsh wizard hit double figures for assists on seven occasions, and was a key cog in the Manchester United side that swept all before them under Sir Alex Ferguson.
