Mbappe is having an excellent 2022 World Cup with France. He has scored five goals in four games, making him the top scorer in the competition at the time of writing.

As a result of his superb displays, the PSG forward has picked up the Budweiser-sponsored man of the match trophy in three of France’s four games, but when posing for photos with it he is seen turning it around so that the logo of the alcohol giants can’t be seen.

The reason for this is that he has been hiding the Budweiser logo on his World Cup man of the match awards as he prefers not to be associated with alcohol brands..

L’Equipe, via Fox News, report that he is doing this on purpose as he has an image rights policy which includes no promotion of alcohol, junk food or sports betting.

Mbappe is now set to face off with England in the quarter-finals of the competition on Saturday.

England are the top scorers at the World Cup but their defence is clearly their weakest area, so it will be interesting to see how they deal with the threat of Mbappe, whose pace and skill is expected to cause Kyle Walker and co. a lot of issues.
