An explanation for the absence of Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United’s latest matchday squad has been provided on Saturday evening.
United, of course, are set to return to action in short order.
Fresh off a trio of defeats either side of the international break, the Red Devils have made the trip to Turf Moor, for a Premier League meeting with Burnley.
Erik ten Hag has opted for a number of changes to his side, some enforced, and some likely owing to poor form.
The likes of Jonny Evans, Scott McTominay and youngster Hannibal Mejbri have all been thrown in from the off in Lancashire.

As alluded to above, though, on the flip side, a key member of United’s defensive setup was also completely unavailable to his boss on Saturday.
Despite a recent injury scare, stopper Martinez took his place at the heart of United’s backline for the club’s meetings with both Brighton & Hove Albion, and Bayern Munich over the course of the last week.
Speaking ahead of kick-off at Turf Moor, though, Erik ten Hag revealed that the Argentine international, simply, ‘is injured’ once more.
🚨🎙️Ten Hag:
“Lisandro Martinez is injured and replaced by Jonny Evans. With Hannibal, and it’s not just Hannibal, but also Scott Mctominay, we want to bring energy to the midfield, power. We think you need it.”
