Manchester City’s latest FA Cup triumph has since given rise to some encouraging news for Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s troops, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Amid the ongoing pursuit of a historic treble, the Sky Blues made the trip to Wembley, for a showpiece meeting with arch rivals Manchester United.
And, when all was said and done, the former, once more, did enough to best their city neighbours.
Soon-to-be free agent Ilkay Gundogan proved the star of the show, notching a brace either side of the interval to ensure that Bruno Fernandes’ equaliser ultimately proved to be little more than a United consolation.

As alluded to above, though, City’s latest title will not only have been celebrated by those of a Citizens persuasion.
Owing to their 2nd-placed Premier League finish, and United’s defeat, Mikel Arteta’s troops have earned the right to take on Guardiola’s City, in the upcoming edition of the Community Shield.
