Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has, on Saturday, provided an insight into the club’s long-term plans for Ansu Fati.
The name of youngster Ansu, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Barca hierarchy had come to the surprise decision to allow the Spanish international to move on.
Premier League outfit Brighton & hove Albion, in turn, swooped in decisive fashion, bringing Ansu in on loan for the season ahead.
And though the deal does not include an option to buy for the Seagulls, speculation surrounding the attacker’s long-term future back at the Camp Nou has nevertheless continued to swirl.
This comes despite Ansu, a matter of a couple of years ago, having been widely considered to be one of La Masia’s most talented products ever.

And the Spanish tactician’s ensuing comments will no doubt come as a source of relief for those of a Blaugrana persuasion hopeful of Ansu returning to base, to ultimately fulfil his potential in Catalunya.
“We want him to return and make history at Barcelona in the future,” Xavi began.
“Ansu’s part of the club’s heritage, he just wanted to play and asked me to have this chance,” he concluded.
