Spain completed the international double this summer by beating France to claim gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
La Roja added the medal to their recent Euro 2024 triumph, but this time they overcame hosts France in the final.
Les Bleus fought back from 3-1 down to force extra-time, but it was not enough to hold off a brilliantly technical Spain side.
France took the lead early on through Enzo Millot, whose strike was roared on by the dominant home crowd.
Those in the stands had been treated to an appearance from Arsene Wenger pre-match, as well as a rendition of La Marseillaise ahead of kick off.
But that was one of the only positives from the match for Thierry Henry’s side.
Fermin Lopez levelled the match before grabbing a second just seven minutes later.

Maghnes Aklouche fired home to set-up a grandstand finish and it was certainly a spectacle in the pouring Paris rain.
Referee Ramon Abatti was sent to the VAR screen in added time and decided that Benat Turrientes had fouled Arnaud Kalimuendo, earning France a penalty.
Mateta stepped up and converted cooly, adding an extra thirty minutes to the game.
Sergio Camello scored either side of extra-time to win it for Spain and break French hearts on home soil.
