It’s the biggest game in Serie A this weekend ahead of the pause in the action for the World Cup as Inter Milan head to Bergamo to meet with Atalanta as only goals difference separates the two sides in the race for the top four.
Despite a defeat to Juventus recently, Inter are still well within a shout of getting into the Champions League spots before the break until January. They will need results to go their way, but the 2020/21 Serie A winners have the perfect chance to stamp their authority down on the race for Europe here.
Inter have managed to win nine games, and with five losses from the other 14 outings, their inconsistencies are clear for everyone to see. On the other hand, after smashing Bologna 6-1, they are now the second-highest scorers in Serie A with 31 goals netted. However, Inter have let in 20 too.
As for Atalanta, they slipped up in midweek in a 2-1 loss to regelation fighters Lecce, and this now means they are on 27 points and have just 20 goals of their own on the board – they were the highest-scoring team in Serie A from 2017-2021 by quite a distance.
The form of the two from midweek points to a win for Inter, but in what is turning out to be one of the most hectic and unpredictable Serie A seasons in history, this game could go either way and it will no doubt be yet another thriller in Italy.
