After registering one of the results of the season across European football, Lazio will take on Salernitana back at the Stadio Olimpico with Maurizio Sarri’s side sitting third in Serie A.
Lazio travelled to Bergamo last time out with the aims of establishing themselves well within the title race this season against Atalanta. Sarri saw his side run out comfortable 2-0 winners, with a goal inside the first 10 minutes before Felipe Anderson netted a second. In truth, the result was never in doubt as they dictated the play and saw many more chances than Atalanta.
The result also means a six-game unbeaten run in Serie A ever since losing to Napoli. This run has seen them win three games 4-0, while also defeating Hellas Verona 2-1 and drawing with Udinese. If Lazio can get another win here, there will be very little to dispute their chances in this incredible title race.
As for Salernitana, they’ve been much better at this stage in the season that last year. The club returned to the win column after a 2-0 loss to Inter Milan, and with them defeating Hellas Verona 2-1 before that and then Spezia 1-0 last weekend, it does mean Salernitana have lost two and won two in October.
On the other hand, with a 5-0 loss to Sassuolo at the start of the month, there is always the feeling they could lose by a considerable margin. Salernitana are 11th in the table, however, with 14 points on the board and just a six-point gap on eighth-placed Juventus.
