Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has thrown down another gauntlet between himself and England international winger Jadon Sancho amid an ongoing row which sees the former Borussia Dortmund wunderkind now banned from the club’s facilities.

Ten Hag and Sancho remain locked in an ongoing confrontation surrounding previous remarks from the Dutch tactician regarding the forward’s participation on the pitch during the 2023-24 Premier League season, which Sancho has remained adamant is incorrect and singling him out incorrectly.

Per The Mirror’s David McDonnell and Colin Millar, Ten Hag, despite the attempts of senior members of the first-team hoping to convince Sancho to come to the table and apologize, has now been banned from all first-team facilities at the club, which includes the dining facilities.

In the report, it was made clear that “the move was actioned by Ten Hag, who does not want a disillusioned player spreading negativity and causing disharmony within his squad.”

McDonnell and Millar also reported “there are similarities between Ten Hag’s stance on Sancho and that of Cristiano Ronaldo almost a year ago. After the Portuguese superstar stormed down the tunnel and out of Old Trafford – unauthorized, after being told he would be a late substitute against Tottenham – he was suspended from the club’s facilities.”

It is reportedly understood that national team colleagues Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw have been among the senior members who feel Sancho must come back to the discussion table to hash out the situation in order to restore the best possible atmosphere at the club.

Stay tuned as this story could have yet another twist in the road in the coming days.
