Liverpool face Fulham in the season’s first early kick-off on Saturday.

Liverpool head into the tie as clear favourites to pick up a win against the newly-promoted side.

Fulham have spent well in the transfer market this summer, but they seem to do so every year before then going straight back down to the Championship.

As for Liverpool, they have Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez to fill the void in their attack left by Sadio Mane.

Ahead of the tie, Klopp spoke to the media on Friday morning. When doing so, the German explained how Liverpool are trying to improve:

“We try to improve, little tweaks, we know what we can do,” Klopp said. “More variety and being more dominant with the ball. We try to help the boys to do that. I enjoyed pre-season so I am positive but that’s my nature. We’ll see.”

The Liverpool tactician was then asked about new signings, but suggested the club are not close to bringing anyone in: “In the moment, nothing changed. We have too many injuries, yes… a lot of unlucky situations.”

On the injuries, he added: “We started with Diogo getting a re-injury. Kostas unlucky in a training situation. He might be ready to train next week which is helpful. Ibou in a challenge v Strasbourg, we have to see how long it will take but he’s out for a while. We cannot solve the problems we have with a transfer. At the moment it makes no sense to us. But the transfer window is still open and we will see.”
