Liverpool are leading the race for teenage sensation Jude Bellingham, who is expected to move clubs this summer, according to reports.

The Englishman is one of the hottest prospects in world football, and is expected to begin a frenzy for his signature should it become public knowledge that he is free to leave next summer.

And, the Telegraph report, “Liverpool are expected to lead the chase” for his signature, claiming that although “Klopp strengthened his midfield with the loan signing of Arthur Melo on deadline day earlier this month”, he is “expected to look at that position further” next summer, when James Milner will be out of contract.

The Reds are in need of a midfield overhaul, with Jordan Henderson and Thiago both joining Milner in the 30+ category, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are both too injury prone to be relied upon, and the latter is out of contract next summer.

As a result, a move for Bellingham, widely considered one of the greatest talents in world football, makes perfect sense.

Klopp has not held back on his praise of the youngster previously either, telling reporters last month that He’s not on the market, so that’s the first problem with that player (Bellingham),”, before adding “Well, the only problem with that player.”

“The club have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful”, he told reporters.
