Match Preview
It may not be the glamorous final both Canada and Uruguay were hoping for, but they still have one more game to play at Copa America.
The third-place play-off is a tradition in the tournament, and pride is still on the line for manager’s Jesse Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa.
Canada were undone by world champions Argentina in the semi-finals, losing 2-0 and seeing first-hand the quality of Lionel Messi and Co.
It was a valiant effort and considering it is Marsch’s first tournament in charge of the Maple Leafs, he will be encouraged by what he has seen.
Uruguay will still be reeling from their loss to Colombia.
It all kicked off in the stands after the match and led to Bielsa going off on a massive rant about the organisation of the tournament as a whole.
Several players are being investigated for getting involved in the violence, including Darwin Nunez and Rodrigo Bentancur.
It is unknown what their involvement will be in their play-off.
