Matthew Stafford refused to go into detail about his adjusted contract with the LA Rams but says he is “happy” after reporting for training.
The Rams and their quarter-back finally reached an agreement on a new contract on Wednesday, avoiding a hold-out situation at their training camp.
Stafford refused to speak to reporters as the saga went on during the off-season and was asked if he has got what he was hoping for with the adjusted deal.
Without revealing the details, the 36-year-old said: “listen, I’m happy to be where I am.”
He added: “You know what I mean? I’m happy to be here, I’m happy to be playing.
“I’m excited about playing football this year and that’s what matters to me the most, to be honest.”

ESPN say Stafford was set to earn a $31 million base salary this season under the four-year, $160 million contract he signed with the Rams in 2022.
Although three years remain on his deal, only $15 million of his $27 million salary in 2025 and none of his $26 million salary in 2026 were guaranteed before the recent adjustment.
The two parties came to an agreement on Wednesday, the day the players were due to report for their training camp at Loyola Marymount University.
When asked whether the dispute put him in danger of not taking the field on Wednesday, Stafford said he doesn’t “even think about that kind of stuff.”
Rams coach Sean McVay praised his QB for the commitment shown on the first day of training, saying: “I thought he did really well.
“I thought he got through some progressions really well and obviously finished the day with a great red zone touchdown to Davis Allen.
