Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was held back from team drills during a joint practice session with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hill, one of the star names in the NFL, has been suffering with a thumb injury.
It is not expected to be a major issue, but the 30-year-old has missed both pre-season games so far.
The Dolphins first have beaten both the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders and will face the Bucs in their final match before the new season.
They open their campaign on September 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Coach Mike McDaniel said Hill would take part in some aspects of Wednesday’s training camp but wants to avoid aggravating the thumb injury further.

He said: “There’s also times that, because of the timing of where their bodies are at, kind of puts them at risk to get a further injury.
“And so it’s really from a medical standpoint, you’re just trying to let something cool down so you don’t have something happen at the expense of regular-season games.
“So he’s been very active but we’re trying to make sure we keep him out of harm’s way.”
McDaniels did not say how Hill had picked up the injury but will be hoping to see him back fully fit sooner rather than later.
The WR led the NFL in receiving yards last offseason, finishing with 1,799 and making 119 catches.
